We seek out remarkable fiction that deserves to be discovered, introducing readers to stories they may never have found on their own. While our focus is overlooked fiction, we occasionally feature timeless classics when we believe they offer a memorable reading experience.

Our selections are intentionally different from what you’ll typically find on bestseller lists or trending online. Rather than chasing the newest release, we look for stories with the power to surprise, delight, and stay with readers long after the final page.

What you won’t find are books that rely on explicit sexual content, graphic violence, or shock value. While our selections may explore difficult themes or venture into different genres, the foundation remains engaging, immersive, and deeply readable.

Discovery means occasionally finding a book you admire more than you love, and sometimes finding one you’ll recommed for years to come.

Each month, you’ll discover thoughtfully curated companion pieces inspired by the featured book. Some are designed to deepen your connection to the story. Others encourage reflection, discovery, or simply make opening each package feel like part of the experience.

The Secret Book Co. was created around a simple idea: some of the best books are the ones we never hear about.

Every month, we carefully select a single work of fiction based on its storytelling, readability, and lasting appeal. Each book is paired with thoughtfully curated and crafted reading elements that celebrate the experience of discovery and reading.

Our goal isn’t to chase bestseller lists or the latest trends. It’s to help readers discover remarkable fiction they might never have found on their own.

Yes! The Secret Book Co. offers two ways to share the joy of discovery.

A Monthly Membership is a wonderful choice for someone you’d like to treat to an ongoing journey of book discovery.

Our Three-Month Guest Membership is a one-time purchase and offers an example of The Secret Book Co. experience with three thoughtfully curated monthly deliveries, making it an ideal gift for birthdays, holidays, or simply introducing someone to the joy of discovering a great story.

Because selections are curated for a group rather than tailored individually, there may occasionally be overlap with books you already own. Most members find this happens rarely, but it is a possibility.

If it does happen, many members choose to gift the extra copy, donate it, or include in a neighborhood lending library.

Memberships are prepaid and non-refundable once purchased. Because each box is prepared in small batches and assembled by hand, boxes and individual items are not eligible for return.

If an item arrives damaged in transit, please contact The Secret Book Co. within a week of delivery and include a photo of the damage. We will work with you to find a reasonable solution.

Membership sign-ups close on the 7^th of each month. Boxes ship during the last week of the month. If you join after the monthly cutoff, your first shipment will be the following month.

All memberships will be billed on the 7th of each month.

Here’s how this works:

• If you subscribe before the current month’s cutoff of the 7th, you will be charged for your first delivery that month.
• Your membership renews on the 7th of each month until you choose to cancel.
  • For example, if you subscribe on the 2nd, your first box will ship the last week of that month, and your next monthly charge will occur on the 7th.
• If you subscribe after the cutoff of the 7th, you will be charged to begin your membership, and your first delivery will be the following month. Recurring billing will align to the 7th of the month after your first delivery.

Your statement will show a charge from The Secret Book Co.

Boxes ship the last week of each month. You will receive tracking information once your box leaves our studio.
