Each month, you’ll receive a hand-selected book chosen for storytelling, atmosphere, and readability. Most choices live in the world of general fiction, though from time to time a book may lean into a particular style or setting if the story is too good to ignore.

Books are chosen for quality and lasting appeal rather than release date. While a newer title may appear from time to time, many books will be recent discoveries, or overlooked gems. The focus is discovery, not chasing what’s trending.

What you won’t find is explicit writing, trauma-driven narratives, or anything overwhelmingly heavy. While selections may explore the edges of genre or tone, the foundation remains immersive, engaging and deeply readable.

The title will be a surprise, but the boundaries will not. You will always know the general range of what you might receive, and you can trust that each book is chosen with intention.

The joy is in discovering something you might not have picked for yourself, without feeling blindsided. Does this mean you’ll love every book? Not necessarily. That’s part of the path of discovery.

Not exactly. When you subscribe, you agree to the curated range from which The Secret Book Co. selects. You won’t choose specific genres or titles; the surprise is part of the experience, but you’ll always know the general boundaries of what you’ll receive.

Over time, you’ll receive a range of memorable and engaging stories, each selected for both a sense of familiarity and discovery.   

Yes. While stories may contain emotional depth or moments of tension, we avoid books that rely on graphic content, explicit material, or trauma-driven shock value.

The aim is immersion, readability, enjoyment in the experience of discovery. This subscription is geared toward a mature audience, and some themes may not be appropriate for younger readers.

The Secret Book Co. is built on the idea of creating a reading tradition and an element of surprise. Every aspect, from the book to the wrapping, to the monthly element inclusions, is chosen to create an elevated reading experience.

This is not a box of random stuff or trend-driven merchandise. It’s a thoughtfully curated literary parcel solidly founded on a reading experience.

Yes! A subscription from The Secret Book Co. makes a thoughtful gift for readers who enjoy books, discovery, and the excitement of opening something new.

Founding members are the first chapter of The Secret Book Co. Membership is offered as a prepaid three-month subscription. Members receive one curated box each month, each selection prepared and assembled in small batches. Additional membership options may be introduced in the future. The Secret Book Co. will announce these as they become available.

The three-month membership is $119.97 ($39.99 per month), billed once at the time of joining.

This includes three curated books, monthly elements, and packaging. Shipping is included. Sales tax is calculated separately based on the delivery address, where applicable. If you would like to purchase a Founding Membership, please contact tsbc2026@outlook.com.

Because selections are curated for a group rather than tailored individually, there may occasionally be overlap with books you already own. Most members find this happens rarely, but it is a possibility.

If it does happen, many members choose to gift the extra copy, donate it, or include in a neighborhood lending library.

Founding memberships are prepaid and non-refundable once purchased. Because each box is prepared in small batches and assembled by hand, boxes and individual items are not eligible for return.

If an item arrives damaged in transit, please contact The Secret Book Co. within a week of delivery and include a photo of the damage. We will work with you to find a reasonable solution.

Subscription sign-ups close on the 7^th of each month. Boxes ship during the last week of the month. Your subscription begins the month following sign-up unless otherwise noted.

The Secret Book Co. currently ships across the contiguous US. If you are interested in a Founding Membership, and live outside the contiguous US, please contact us at tsbc2026@outlook.com to see if shipping to your area is feasible.

Due to Stripe’s limitations in our particular case, on checkout you may see “24 days free” or similar messaging when you begin your membership. Stripe adds a “free trial” to prevent a member from being double charged in the event their membership sign-up period overlaps a billing period before they received their first The Secret Book Co. delivery.

All memberships will be billed on the 7th of each month.

Here’s how this works:

• If you subscribed before the current month’s cutoff of the 7th, you will be charged an initial membership fee for your first delivery.
• After the initial payment, your subscription renews on the 7th of each month.
  • For example, if you subscribe on March 2nd, your first The Secret Book Co. box will ship the last week of March, and your next subscription monthly charge will occur on April 7th.
• If you subscribe after the cutoff of the 7th, you will be charged an initial membership fee to begin your subscription, and your first delivery will be the following month, with your recurring billing aligning to the 7th of the month after your first delivery.
  • For example, if you subscribe on April 15th, your first The Secret Book Co. box will ship the last week of May, and your next subscription monthly charge will occur on June 7th.

Your statement will show a charge from The Secret Book Co.
